A tradition my Aunt started years ago for Easter, she started buying all the kids kites. This year she found a Sun kite and got me one. The idea was to get it up in the sky and take a picture. Well I got it stuck in the tree and that is where it stayed. I thought I would still share it as my Sun for the day because I was out there long enough to get sunburnt! It was fun!

Today is Record Store Day! So what better thing to make a Sun out of then a record. The boyfriend and I went to a record store that we have been wanting to check out. We bought some really awesome records. I got Fleetwood Mac, Janis Joplin and Shel Silverstein, and he got The Who, Queen, and Metallica. We came home and just listened to records for a couple of hours.

The beginning of last month I had went out and just ripped everything out of my garden beds. They were horribly overgrown with weeds. My boyfriend was digging near the rose bush and ended up chopping it. I was devastated! I decided to leave it alone and see what would happen. They have already grown back and started budding like crazy! I went out and decided to prune some of it back again and got these roses off of it.

Starburst Jelly Bean Sun! As Easter is approaching I have a few holiday related Suns in the works!

Yay! 100 Suns! I can't believe I have continued to do this for 100 days. My thought on this one was I wanted to do 100 pennies for 100 Suns, but I counted out 100 pennies and it just wasn't enough to do what I wanted. I didn't end up counting how many I used. I did soak the pennies in a vinegar and salt bath to create the green patina on them. I really like how they look really old.

Well I feel like I failed a bit today! I had a totally different project planned today and it fell through. I didn't have a tool I needed. So I decided to go to Plan B which was I was going to do a seed bead square. It took me a while to come up with the design and plan it out. I ran out of time to actually finish it but I thought I should show off my grid design. You will most definitely see this design again, just in a different way.

For my birthday my sister had sent me one of those Egg Plants. I decided to go ahead and try and start it tonight. You have to crack open the ceramic egg and then water it. It is supposed to be Snapdragons. I am excited to see if I can get it to grow properly. My mom has a green thumb and I didn't seem to inherit it. I made a Sun out of the left over dirt, it was actually really pretty, it had gold flecks in it!

I bought a new set of Prismacolor nupastels the other day and I have been wanting to see how they differ from the cheapy ones I have now. The differences that I saw was the colors are more vibrant and do not leave as much dust behind on the Prismacolor brand. I also gave myself some rules to this. I have a habit of wanting to plan everything out when I draw or paint, so I just made myself go for it without any plan to see what I come up with.
